Paw Pals of Clinton County is dedicated to helping the homeless pets of Clinton County, Indiana. We work tirelessly to raise money for the care and comfort of our “paw pals” at the Clinton County Humane Society and spend countless hours working with them to find their forever homes. We need your help! Our furry friends can’t speak for themselves. They need us (and you!) to be their voices. Together we can make a difference! Won’t you join us?

Harry's First Christmas in His Forever Home!
It's pictures like this one that just warm your heart! We've done updates on Harry (Rusty when he was at our shelter) before, but we just had to share this one. Harry is an older guy that wasn't in very good shape when we first saw him. He had skin and hair loss issues and problems with his eyes. He honestly didn't have much of a chance to be adopted. Tracey, one of our volunteers, didn't want his last days to be spent in a shelter without a family. She contacted rescues hoping to save him. Miracles do sometimes happen and Harry was taken in by Eileen and Young at Heart Pet Rescue. From there he was adopted into the wonderful home where this picture was taken. Thank you so much to everyone that has a part in making stories like this happen!

Baby, it's cold outside!
Now that the weather is turning colder, it's time to stop and consider our furry friends and how to prepare them for winter. Here is a link to an article from The Humane Society of the United States that has some good information.

Sorry!
I would like to apologize for our lack of posts lately. I kind of got away from using this blog for a while. We weren't getting a whole lot of traffic on it and it was a little frustrating. We were putting most of our energy into our page on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/4pawpals and recently started a website http://www.pawpalsofclintoncounty.org. It looks like they have added a couple of features to allow this blog to be a little more like a website, so I might mess with this a little over the next week or so and see what I can do with it. It takes more spare time than I have to manage several different sites, so another apology in advance if the results are disappointing.
Thanks so much to all of you that have followed this blog! It was our first attempt to promote Paw Pals beyond our page on Petfinder and it has been fun. Several volunteers came to us after reading about us here and have made a huge difference in the lives of the pets at our shelter. That's what it's all about so it's definitely been worth it!

Buddy's Visit Brings An Addition to the Family
Wrigley, a Cattle Dog mix, was adopted from the Cinton County Humane Society in February. He stopped by today for a visit. Wrigley, now named Buddy, looked great! His Mom and Dad told us he has never met a stranger- human or canine. During Buddy's visit, his parents met a Pomeranian named Foxy. It was love at first sight so now Buddy has a new sister to love.

An update from Sam's new home!
Our Friends at the Humane Society of Clinton County,
We adopted Abraham from you on Saturday, May 1st. His new name is Sam and he is having a wonderful time in his new home with us. Our other dog Luke is a true sport and has been sharing all of his toys (and attention) with his new brother. We thought you might enjoy some photos we took of Sam. Maybe sometime soon we will be able to take a photo with his entire new family and forward it on to you.
Fondly,
The Rowe Family (Terry, Kristi, Hannah, Lauren, Luke & Sam)

Muchacha, Now Named Stella!
Muchacha/Stella was adopted by a family from southern Indiana earlier this week. Stella, on the right, appears very happy with her new four-legged brother.
I just want to thank you she is wonderful and I think she's going to fit in great with our family. I attached a pic of our two furry kiddos together. She is also really sweet with our real kiddos.
Thanks again,
The Ong Family

Barchu Celebrates His 1st Birthday!
You might remember Barchu when his proud parents sent pictures of his graduation from obedience training. Well, today is the one year anniversary of his adoption from the Clinton County Humane Society. His picture is worth a thousand words. Barchu is much loved by his new family and he seems very pleased with them too!

AJ, aka Fluffy, Finds Her Forever Home with Her Foster Family
Fluffy was officially adopted today by her foster dad, Tom Brinker. Tom is a regular volunteer on Sundays who helps walk, brush, and bathe dogs. Tom has fostered several other cats who have been adopted through the website, but Fluffy was different. She just "fit in" perfectly with the rest of his crew. Thank you, Tom, for giving Fluffy her new home and for all your work at our humane society!

Volunteer Puts in Countless Hours
Rick Ploughe faithfully comes every Sunday to organize volunteers and help walk the dogs. There is nothing Rick won't do to help the homeless animals including taking animals to the vet, transporting animals to rescues, fixing fences of foster homes, helping take pictures, donating his time and money to help make the Humane Society of Clinton County a better place. Here Rick is shown placing a new collar on Blossom after giving her a bath prior to her adoption.

Paris and Rowdy Celebrate Christmas with Their Family
Paris, the one on the left, and Rowdy, the one on the right, are shown with their family, Amber and Anthony Schenck this past Christmas. Both Paris and Rowdy were adopted from our humane society. Paris was fostered by Julie Foster prior to her adoption. Many more pets can be saved if we can find more foster homes. Please contact Beverly Ploughe at ploughe@geetel.net if you are interested in becoming a foster home.
