More Wag-A-Thon video

This should be the last of the Wag-A-Thon postings unless someone else sends me something or unless Lisa has more pictures, video, or information to share. I didn't realize how much stuff we took until I started to go through it all. We truly appreciate everyone that donated, helped, or participated in the Wag-A-Thon. It was a good time for us, but remember that the animals were why we did it. We easily had the biggest crowd ever, and the total money raised appears to be our second best ever! Please start thinking ahead to next year so we can make plans for an even more successful event.

Hi Rick and everyone,

My husband and I really had an enjoyable time at the event! It was so uplifting to see the excitement, enthusiasm, and involvement from the public - those who were there in person, and those who pledged or sponsored. We're already looking forward to attending next year, and will be watching out for other events through the year. What a wonderful way to have fun and accomplish Paw Pals' goals!

We're glad you and your husband enjoyed the day! Even though the weather wasn't the greatest, it seemed like most people (and dogs) there had a good time. We had a couple of minor glitches during the event, but the main thing we're happy about was the excellent turnout by the public. Hopefully, many of them will want to become more involved with Paw Pals and the shelter. We need as much support as we can get during the year to accomplish the things we want to do. Any support (whether it be financial, volunteering, moral support, or even just spreading the word about us) is greatly appreciated!

It takes a lot of time and money on a weekly basis just to try to keep up with all of the dogs and cats that come and go from our shelter. Taking pictures and updating the Petfinder site, contacting rescues and transporting animals to the rescues if needed, transporting animals to and from the vet, finding foster homes, doing the occasional offsite adoption event, keeping the shelter open on Sunday afternoon, and fundraising are just some of the things we do.

We would encourage anyone that is interested in joining Paw Pals to contact us or come to our next meeting (Tues.,6/2, at 6 p.m. at the shelter) or come join us any Sunday afternoon from 1-3 (some are often still there as late as 6 or 7 trying to finish up feeding, watering, and picture taking) to walk dogs. Thanks again to both of you for your help the in the last few weeks! We have had quite a few new volunteers lately and we're excited about the possibilities if we can continue to grow. Hope to see you and everyone else again soon!
